Legit Ways to Get Robux Without Paying (and the Scams to Skip)

Every real way to get Robux in 2026: Microsoft Rewards, gift cards, Creator Rewards for game makers and selling avatar items, plus the free Robux scams to avoid.

· 4 min read

Robux only come from one place: Roblox. Every legit way to get them ends with Roblox putting them in your account, either because someone paid for them or because you earned them as a creator. That makes the scams easy to spot: if a site, game or video says it can generate Robux, it is lying.

Here is every real option, starting with the easiest.

The short answer

  • Use Microsoft Rewards points to get Robux for free.
  • Get a Roblox gift card as a present and redeem it.
  • Make a game and earn Robux from Creator Rewards and from what players buy in it.
  • Make and sell avatar items in the Marketplace, if you meet the requirements.
  • Get paid by a group for real work, like designing clothes or building.

Everything else, from generators to “free Robux” games, is a scam.

Microsoft Rewards

Microsoft Rewards is the best-known free way to get Robux, and it still works. You earn points for things like searching with Bing and completing daily activities, then exchange them for Robux on the Rewards Redeem page. You get a Roblox code, which you redeem at roblox.com/redeem.

What changes is the stock. The Robux options depend on your country, and now and then one disappears from the Redeem page for a while, which is why some players say it “stopped working”. If you do not see Robux there, check again in a few days.

It is slow: earning enough points takes weeks of daily activity. But it is real, it is run by Microsoft, and it never asks for your Roblox password.

Ask for a Roblox gift card

The other easy way to get Robux without spending your own money is a gift card from family or friends for a birthday or holiday. Cards are sold in many stores and online.

Redeem the code at roblox.com/redeem while signed in to your account. Treat the code like cash: anyone who sees it can use it. A common scam is someone offering a “trade” or “check” if you send them your card code. Never send it to anyone.

Make a game: Creator Rewards

If you build a game in Roblox Studio and people play it, Roblox pays you. The main program is called Creator Rewards, and it replaced the old Premium Payouts in 2025. It has two parts:

  • Daily engagement. You earn 5 Robux a day for each Active Spender who plays your game for 10 minutes or more that day, as long as your game is one of the first three games they open that day. An Active Spender is a player who spent at least $9.99 on Roblox in the last 60 days.
  • Audience expansion. When your game brings a brand-new player to Roblox, or brings back one who stopped playing, you earn 35% of the first $100 that player spends on Roblox in their first 60 days. This part needs an ID-verified account, and the game must average 100 daily players or more.

On top of that, you keep a share of what players buy inside your game, like game passes and items. Robux you earn have a 60-day holding period before you can spend them, and creators with at least 30,000 earned Robux can exchange them for real money through the Developer Exchange (DevEx).

Be realistic: most new games earn very little at first. Creator Rewards pays for real players who stay, so a fun game people come back to matters more than any trick.

Make and sell avatar items

Hats, hair, clothing and accessories are sold in the Roblox Marketplace, and creators earn Robux from every sale. To upload and sell avatar items you need to:

  • be ID-verified;
  • have Roblox Plus or Roblox Premium 1000 or 2200;
  • follow Roblox’s Community Standards and Marketplace policies.

Publishing an item also costs Robux up front, and the amounts change from time to time, so check your Creator Dashboard before you start. The Marketplace is crowded, so items need to be good to sell. If you like 3D modeling, it can be a real way to earn, but it is not free to begin.

Get paid by a group

Roblox groups can pay members from the group’s funds. Real groups do this for real work: designing clothing, building maps, scripting or moderating. If you have a skill, offering it to a group you trust is a legit way to earn.

Be careful with groups that promise Robux just for joining, inviting friends or “completing tasks” on outside sites. Those are usually fronts for scam sites.

What does not work

  • Robux generators. They cannot create Robux. They exist to steal your account or make money from surveys and downloads.
  • “Free Robux” games. Roblox games cannot give players Robux.
  • Promo codes for Robux. Official promo codes only give items.
  • “Glitches” in videos. There is no glitch that adds Robux to your account.
  • Anyone who needs your password, your login cookie or a code from your screen. That is how accounts get stolen. Our scams guide explains each trick.

Free stuff that does not need Robux

You do not always need Robux to look good. Creators release free avatar items every day, and some of them are limited drops that run out fast. Our free UGC tracker shows every free item with stock left, and our free UGC guide explains how to claim them safely.

Questions

Can you get free Robux from promo codes?

No. Official Roblox promo codes give free avatar items, never Robux. Any code that promises Robux is fake.

Do 'earn Robux' survey and offer sites work?

They are not run by Roblox, many never pay, and some are traps that ask for your login. We do not recommend them. If you try one anyway, never give it your password or anything you paste from your browser.

How much Robux can a small game make?

Under Creator Rewards, a game earns 5 Robux a day for each qualifying player who plays it for 10 minutes or more. If 100 qualifying players do that in a day, the game earns 500 Robux that day, on top of anything players buy inside it.

Can a Roblox game give me Robux?

No. Games cannot send Robux to players. A game that promises Robux for playing is lying, and often it is trying to get you to visit a scam site.
